Question for mid to long-arm machine owners

I probably should know this but,I have a 15" quilting machine on a gracie pro frame. When I am quilting I can only do a strip about 10" is this about right or am I doing something wrong? We set the frame up per instructions. Everything is working fine, but still 10" from a 15" throat...

Sounds about right - you have to subtract the space taken up from the roller and quilt rolled up. That takes several inches away from your 15" throat space

As you keep quilting and rolling up the quilt, your actual quilting space will decrease by however thick the takeup roll gets.

Sounds about right. The quilt needs to go somewhere as you advance it. I have an 18" long arm and I when i purchased it I was told it would do a 12" block, but not if it is on point!!

I have a 9" throat and only have about 4.5" left at the end... so yours sounds right

Yes you loose about 6" give or take. AND as you roll you loose a tiny bit more .... those tiny bits add up unfortunately.
