Question for Purse/Bag Makers

Where or at what site do you find the most economical variety for accessories, such as handles, magnets, feet, etc., for the purses that you make? Thank you.

I sometimes purchase purses at thrift stores and use the handles.

This is what I do too. Often at garage sales you can get purses for $0.25 or $0.50. In addition to the handles, you can often pry off some of the twist toggles. I have also taken them apart and used the pieces for a pattern. Look for zippers with unique pulls. I also get hardware and strapping at Country Brook:

and also Create for Less:

hi quilter 65 - try home sew (in bethlehem pa) or john hittle sewing. this is not a personal recommendation as i have never ordered from either.
i think home sew merged with newark something - and i did order from them - before pcs or even sewing machines were invented. they were fine back then. both websites are tough to use - but prices seem reasonable.
love the upcycling tips

I have ordered from johnhittlesewing.com several times, and have been pleased with their prices and service. However, be sure you're ordering what you want, because there may be a restocking fee for returns. I haven't had to return anything.

I too have had good luck with John Hittle especially when I wanted to buy in bulk.

So far I just use either the purchased webbing (from Walmart or Joann's) or self fabric handles.

Some of the clasps, d-rings, etc. are pretty reasonable from Tandy/leather Factory.

I have ordered from both Home Sew and John Hittle, with great success. I live in a rural area with very limited shopping available so I ordered frequently from both companies.

I use Etsy or Ebay to find wholesale sellers.
