Question regarding pictures.
Why don't people post the name of a quilt and where they got the pattern when they post a picture. It would sure be nice.
I make most of my quilts by looking at others and doing the math to figure out the pattern. Hence, no name. But mine are usually quite simple.
Very few quilts I do are exactly like the pattern. Most blocks have several regional names and modern quilt magazines even re-name traditional blocks with other names so they can copywriter their instructions. If you post on the thread that you would like the name or the website, most will answer.

Sometimes I just simply forget.
I just send a private message and ask. Sometimes the quilt pattern has to be purchased. I just ask for the source; where can I purchase this pattern. Most will let you know the origin by attaching a link.
Some are not tech savvy like me and have trouble with copy and paste. I'm getting better. |
I try to remember to post the name of the pattern or at least where I saw it. Helps me when I go to look on this site for a past photo of a quilt.
I have never used a pattern. I just look at a quilt I like and go from there. If I was going to sell them I would, because I never know what size it will be . lol
Most of the quilters do post the name of the pattern since so many people insist on having it. sometimes they forget and it's later on in their post. keep looking.
I agree, it would be nice to know where the fabric came from or the designer's name and the pattern name
I'll post a name if it has a name... but I don't use patterns so can't help you there.
