Question regarding Quilt Pro System
 

I subscribed to the Block of the Day and am a little confused.
Is this a paper piecing program?

No but they sell a line of products called Foundation Factory which is paper piecing patterns. The Block of the Day can be downloaded and installed to show up in Quilt Pro or it can be downloaded as a pdf file that gives you rotary cutting directions to make the block. I suppose some blocks could come with foundations to paper piece instead of rotary cutting. I have Quilt Pro so I download the block file and then I can print out templates, rotary cutting directions or foundations.

Bevely is right! When you have the full program, you can take most blocks that pieced and set it up for foundation piecing. I don't as a rule do this, but it is nice to know you can. What I like is that when I see a block I like, I can copy it. Quilt Pro then let's me resize it if I want to make the construction easy. I an also combine it with any oher block I have on hand to make my own unique quilt.

I've been downloading the Quilt Pro into my Document file and then I save them to CD. Seems like most of them are PP but a lot of them are patch work. They also give some quilting motifs too. I haven't done any of the blocks but I have used a couple of the qulting motifs. I just like the idea of saving them. (Am I a hoarder? ) I have noticed that when I send to disc that a lot of them now are repeats but in a different color mode. If it says they are already on disc I just delete them. One day I might try the PP blocks just to see if I can do them. LOL

If you really want to make a block that is normally foundation/paper pieced, you can always cut up the pattern and use it for templates to hand or machine piece. I like paper piecing for the precision but on simpler blocks--I prefer regular rotary cutting & piecing. I do know some people on a paper piecing group that paper piece everything--even 9 patch blocks.
