Question Regarding Using Insul-Bright and Heat-n-Bond
 

When using Insul-Bright, should the shinny side go face up or down?

Which type of Heat-n-Bond do I need to use for appliques. I want to sew a decorative stitch around the applique after I put it on the block.

Shiny side goes up. I don't applique so can't help you there.

The type of Heat n Bond you use depends on what you are using it on, for normal fabrics like you would use for quilting, probably the light or medium weight. The thinner the fabric the lighter the type. The heavy type is used for denim and such fabrics.
Shiny side up where your either hot or cold food container will rest. Nice stuff.

I do alot of buttonhole stitch applique. I use steam a seam II Its easy to needle and I have never had a problem with it. Remember to use a dry iron. Good Luck

Shiny side toward the heat, and don't put it in the microwave!

I use Heat'n Bond Lite for all my machine appliqué.

the shiny side of Insul-brite goes toward the heat. ie, in most cases, UP!
