Can this be done and if so do you still have to use batting in the center?
TIA,
Katt

No reason you can't do that, but I doubt if you would want a batting too, unless you want a really heavy quilt. Or, you can use the blanket in place of batting and use a cotton backing.

I've used blankets as the batting before but not as the backing, but it's your quilt, you can do it anyway you want, but if you use it as the backing, I would just put the top and the blanket together and quilt.

That is how my mom made the quilt for my oldest DD. It had no batting just a blanket for backing. Warm and comfy and all three kids used it.

I've done that for my MUM I didn't want it too heavy for her.
