For those who have made a t-shirt quilt - I am in desperate need of some advise! What type of iron on stabilizer do you use to stablize the t-shirt fabric? I want the quilt to be soft. I am also going to include a few pictures, what is the best inkjet fabric sheets to use? I want it ready to sew after the picture is printed. I know I had many questions, however, and tips I could get would be more than appreciated.

Take a look at these:

Lots of info. This technique doesn't use ANY stabilizer. I'm getting ready to do the quilting on one of these next week for a client.

I have made several and have quilted many for clients on my longarm. I do suggest using an iron on stablizer (like Pellon 911 or 950) so the blocks don't distort while being handled and sewn. I like Printed Treasures (the washable one) to do the pictures on.

use a light weight iron on stabilizer. The T-shirts will be soft.

I made a tshirt quilt top from my old shirts and used pellon 911 FF fusible interfacing. This is what I was advised to use @ the fabric store. It is ok but I would try to go with a lighter weight one next time.

Missouri quilts has a video tutorial and they name a specific brand of fusible interfacing

I use Pellon Featherweight Fusible Interface

I have made about 16 tee shirt quilts - that is how I got started in quilting. I didn't have any directions or patterns - I pretty much figured it out as I went. . . I have always used some type of pellon on the back and when I cut out the tee shirt - I made it much bigger than I needed. Ironed on the pellon decided on my squares or rectngles and then . . put it together. I am goig to do the sashing a bit differently on the next one! I'll post a few of them for you - I do things a little differently than most I think. . .

MYWR - Your quilts are terrific! I sure hope mine comes out O.K. I certainly will take your advice on using pellon. I like your sashing rather than pics I have seen with no sashing. Please post more tips and pics. Thanks Bevster
