Question for those with Janome JP1600P

Can someone please explain to me how to read the thread tension dial... It isn't clear to me and this week I accidentally touched the dial -- well really my finger rode the dial (and not sure in which direction except that I heard the whirrr). I have had this machine for a few years, but I never have really understood the dial. I just fiddle with it when I have problems.

Yeah -- someone will give me an answer for $23... That was not exactly what I had in mind. Was hoping that someone here with the same machine would have a reply for me. But thanks for the link -- I might need it at some point.

It should be in your manual somewhere. I hate checking my manual...it's like reading another language. I have to call my dealer and have them talk me through my problem or drive 1 1/2 hours away to their shop and usually it ends up being something so simple and then I feel so stupid.

I had the same question last week. I figured for the $$$$they wanted I would figure it out myself and sure enough I did.
