Wow...interesting! Mine is a pain to put on and off but I never even thought of keeping it on. Think I will put it back on!

I use what used to be called a "narrow edge foot" and there are stitch-in-the-ditch feet out there. Check with your particular machine manufacturer web site and search for that. If you have an older machine I think you can get a generic low shank, high shank, or slant shank foot that attaches to the shank itself (it probably won't be a snap on foot like mine).

Me, too! Any foot that permits the IDT to be lowered, I use it! LOVE LOVE LOVE it!

I just got the walking foot with the quarter inch on it for my new Janome. Haven't tried it yet but gonna try it tomorrow.
