whats the best way to remove the starch build -up on the iron. I normally use hot iron cleaner but I'm out of it tonite. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

mr clean magic eraser on a cold iron works great

You can use salt sprinkled on a paper bag. and then wax paper. run your iron cold iron on the salt and warm iron on the wax paper. I know I've done this but don't remember what was on the iron.

do you use the shiny side of the wax paper or the dull side?

I find it I let the starch dry before pressing, I don't get hardly any/no build up on my iron :D:D:D

I clean my iron with a little baking soda on a damp cloth

I read to use vinegar. My iron was sticking from interfacing. Rub some white vinegar on it and all my problems went away. Good luck.
