I bought a walking foot from "True Fit". I don't think it is working right. I am connecting that one arm to the needle and screwing down the screw tight. Am I doing something wrong? Has anyone had one from them before?

Thank you to whoever can answer

It should just slip around the screw, you dont slide it in and screw it down. :D:D:D

There should be a fork-like extension on the right side(facing you) that fits over the needle screw as well as the screw to attach the foot.

This might help you a little bit, though her hand keeps getting in the way.

Ok Thanks. I am putting it on right but it is not helping to move the fabric. I am at times having problems with my regular foot moving fabric as well but this is when I am working with small pieces of fabric making tiny doll clothes. I had the machine set at its biggest stitch and tried to sew and the stitches were tiny. So what is up with that?

Maybe your feed dogs are not operating properly. Did you drop them by any chance and forget to raise them again? Or the beginning of the fabric gets jammed into the needle hole...checked that out?

do your feed dogs need cleaning by chance? they can get impacted with fuzz from threads over time. i just take a straight pin and run it in between them and see if anything comes out. clean machines do better.
good luck

Another thought is that there is too much or not enough pressure on the presser foot. My machine has a knob so that you can increase/decrease how much clearance there is between the feed dogs and the foot. I'm not sure I'd be using a walking foot on tiny little doll clothes anyway. I only use it when quilting in the ditch and sewing on binding. It helps feed all those layers of fabric and batting. For small things, I would use a my smallest clear applique foot or a zipper foot so I could see what I was doing better.
