I have never used fat quarters but needing the measurements of them so I can use yardage instead. thanks, MaryM

They are about 18" x 22". It is a half yard of fabric, but in half.

just think of a quarter yard cut in half ..

Generally fat quarters are about 22 x 18 - 1/4 of a yard in a more useable piece than width of fabric (42 - 44) x 9 inches, which is also 1/4 yard. Hope this helps you.

Go to Quiltville.com. and under the Misc Quilt Stuff on the right she has how many squares you can cut from a fat quarter. Kind of useful.
