My quilt's fabrics were all pre-washed. Will the bias tape shrink or get wonky after washing if I don't pre-wash it? I'm guessing most don't wash it, because you would lose the folds?

If you have used this stuff, what do you do?

What would I do, throw it away. I hate prepackaged bias tape. It's not hard to make your own bias tape, that way you can get just the color and fabric you want. I've been making bias tape for years. I love the new Simplicity tape maker. Why are you using bias? Is the quilt curved?

I just saw the tape and picked up because the color was right and it seemed like a good idea at the time! I guess I don't need to make bias tape because there are not any curves--I can make "straight" cuts. Now to find a fabric!

I'm sorry, after I read my post it sounded harsh and I did not mean it that way. I hope I didn't hurt your feelings. I love making my own bias tape as I've many unpleasant mishaps. Sometimes the purchasd bias is not a true bias and it warps.

Oh, I did not take it that way at all! :) I'm very appreciative of any advice. I certainly don't want to make unnecessary work for myself! I get enough of that unsewing and resewing!!

Here is a great video tutorial from the Missouri Quilt Company on binding a quilt. This is pretty much the way I do it. Hope this helps.
