Great find! Now I can quit looking. I drew it out in EQ7 and would have made it as a 10 or 15 inch block. Never would I have thought to make it 12.5 inch finished block.
5, 7-1/2, 10, 12-1/2, 15, 17-1/2 inch blocks (finished size) would work 5 inch finished - 1 inch square for each square in the grid - seam allowances to be added to each piece 7.5 inch - 1-1/2 inch square 10 inch finished - 2 inch units 12.5 - 2.5 15 - 3 17.5 - 3.5 and so on |
Nice block!

Barb, I "googled" Ring Quilt Block ( I fed off your post that said it looked like Wishing Ring) & then clicked on images & it popped up on the second line of images. Then I followed a few links & found the pattern & a bonus you-tube later.

Thanks for the Id of this block. The quilt belongs to a 98 year old neighbor. I am trying to do some history on the quilts she has.
I knew this group could help me. Thanks again |
Barb & osewme aren’t your blocks the same, just different names, or am I missing something?

It's almost like those picture puzzles, where you have to see what's different.-You two are good!---lol

I have it in one of my pattern books listed as the Wedding Ring. (not to be confused with the double wedding ring). It is an easy enough block to construct and works into a beautiful quilt.
