I'm looking for a quilt block pattern I hope someone can help me with. I have no idea what the name is. Its a finished 12 inch block made from four quarters. A portion of each quarter is strip pieced and when the four quarters are sewn together the strips forms a diamond. I doubt it is a free pattern as I have spent most of today looking. I am more than willing to pay for it if I can just find it. LOL

Check this site: http://quiltville.com/stringquiltingprimer.shtml

If this is it, you can adjust your foundation size.

is each unit divided into thirds? the center stripe being diagonal? and when the four units are put together they form a ... mm .... center diamond with another complete diamond stripe around around that? and then in the corners, triangles that will become diamonds when the next block is attached?

Thanks to all who posted a string quilt block. I have been searching the web so have viewed all these. They aren't the one I'm looking for. I'm sure that the block is in a quilt pattern but I don't know the name. Again Thanks to all of you.

Do you mean a true diamond shape or a square on point? I posted a top in Pictures...topic title is "Not Quite Scrappy"... you might want to look at that one. Do you have a picture or a drawing that you could show us to give up a better idea of what you're looking for? Everyone here loves to help.
