quilt blogs

Can anyone suggest some nice quilt blogs? Not necessarily something with "techniques", but pretty pictures and such. I know Charisma from this board has a nice one.
Thanks!

If you want a blog that is updated at least once a day than www.quiltville.blogspot.ca by Bonnie Hunter is an excellent one. Some others are theinboxjaunt.com podunkpretties.blogspot.ca peckspieces.blogspot.ca. freemotionquiltingadventures.blogspot.ca. Some of these are done by QB members. I think the addresses are correct but if not just Google them

If you want one that shows some wonderful quilting - although we get a ton of that with the pictures on the board, check out Green Fairy quilts http://www.greenfairyquiltsblog.com/

Someone a while ago posted this and I look here often. These change daily.

She is a very talented young woman. Her quilting is amazing.

I am subscribed to probably about 150 quilt blogs by email. Not every blog posts every day, some may post 1-2 times a week some post 1-2 a month. I like that they are delivered to my email so I can read, check out pics or go back through their archives. I was mainly subscribing to ones that did mini quilts but so many of them do so many different quilts and blog hops. It is so much fun to see what is going on all over. Just type in what you like example "civil war quilt blogs" or "minature quilt blogs" and see what pops up. FUN FUN FUN!

I do the same as ppquilter, but instead of having them go to my mailbox, I use a reader like Feedly.

I also subscribe to a number of quilt blogs by email - not quite 150, though!

I loved the exuberant color blog but can't find a way to follow without joining Facebook. Am I overlooking something? I am not a fan of Facebook.

I don't "do" facebook in any way, shape, or form. Yes, I know I miss out on lots of quilty stuff plus family members' photos but if they can't be bothered to spend a second to email me a photo, so be it. (mini-vent over :o ).

Pop this into your bookmarks and enjoy:

I am not a FB member, either, so there are several I cannot read, but I love http://christaquiltsblog.com and the weekly newsletter put out by Martindale. There's always something interesting in them and Christa's blog usually has links to other bloggers who have their own ideas. It's fun to see how everyone does everything in their own way! Of course, reading them takes time away from sewing, but everyone needs to take a break now and then!

This has a listing of a "blog hop" (which I'd never heard of or done before, but it's a listing of blogs from all over the world. Right now, all of these are participating and giving prizes of different sorts. You don't have to participate in the "hop" but it's a quick list of blogs you can visit and see if you wish to follow.

I looked at maybe 20 of them before I ran out of time and saw some really neat projects and ideas...especially the far away ones. They also had links to some other "hops" that had many other blogs.

Oh, and many blogs have lists of blogs they follow...like a big ole circle of life :).

Hope you can find some interesting ones.

Hard to beat Bonnie Hunter's blog. She is so talented, with a wicked sense of humor and I always smile when I read her latest.

Love exuberantcolorblogspot!!!

Bonnie Hunter's blog is my favorite. She always has photos of newly made quilt, antique quilts, old machines, quilts being made in her classes in different parts of the country, etc. Plus she had free patterns and will be starting a new mystery quilt very soon. She is so generous, funny, insightful, sharing, and more. And no, I am not related but wish I were.

I second the motion on checking out Bonnie Hunter. I really don't have time for any more after QB & Bonnie. I especially love her quilt cam.

I agree with Tartan about Quiltville and the Inbox Jaunt. The IBJ has a free freemotion motif every Tuesday. Guess where I head with my 1st cup of coffee! lol! I am planning a practice piece with all her motifs for reference.I also like http://www.patchworktimes.com Judy has quilt alongs, free patterns and there is always funny stories about her chickens or Boots the cat. For quick patterns, http://www.maryquilts.com is my go-to blog. She started Heartstrings, a group that makes charity string quilts. I have WAAAYYY too many blogs I follow!

kristakz 12-04-2013 08:23 AM

I'll second soccertxi. Judy (www.patchworktimes.com) is really the only blog that I read daily. Lots of others I drop into when the mood strikes. Judy's gone a bit off quilting lately (knitting seems to be her go-to craft these days), but her blog is always fun to read. Sew-Sisters just finished a Canadian blog hop. There's a great list of bloggers on their site http://sewsisters.blogspot.ca/p/blog...nada-2013.html and each of the hosts listed has links to even more bloggers.
