quilt border question
1 Attachment(s)
I am trying to make it a bed size quilt, thus the additional borders. I would like to add another border of the dark fabric but I am not sure how wide should I make it. The checkered border is 6 inches wide, should the last border be wider?
Maybe I am too tired today, after sewing all day and I can not decide myself? |
I like to fold the border fabric the size I want it and take pictures. Try a few different sizes and look at the pics side by side on the computer. That might help you decide.

Size really depends on how much bigger you want the quilt to be. The lavender doesn't look like it is 6" wide. Maybe add a larger dark border or several thinner colors to make it wider.

I like it the way it is with the dark fabric for binding but if you need it bigger, I would do the last border twice the size of the last mauve border.

It would look good wider as Tartan suggests.

I think a wide border in the dark fabric would look nice.

I think I would add a very narrow dark border and then a wider border of white or if you have another darker one that you could make quite a bit wider. Even a small print for narrow border followed by a wider one of the dark fabric. Very pretty I like your colors. Amy
