Hi, I'm new ... and I'm not even sure what I'm asking for. If I did, I'd probably just google it!
What I'm wanting to do is print out and color at home, or color online, a test of the pattern I'm interested in trying. Does anyone know what I'm asking for? I am most interested in the Cathedral Window pattern. Thanks for any links or advice! |
paperpieces.com have numerous design sheets you can print off and color..they are free. i don't know if they have that design but they have lots to choose from...i usually just use graph paper which you can buy in a wide variety of size-squares. from tiny (1/8") to big (1") if you printed off maybe 1/2" graph paper you could 'draw' your cathedral windows design and then color.

If I can't find a sheet to print for what I want to do, I find a picture of what I want, print it out, enlarge it to the size I want then put it on my lightboard with a piece of white paper over it and make a line drawing of the pattern. Then I make several copies of the line drawing. I color a few, let my daughter color a few then we go over them picking and choosing what we want to incorporate into the quilt. From that selection I color one that has everything we want in it. It sounds like a lot of work but really only takes a few hours to a day---not a bad time frame for the effort that will go into making the whole quilt.

--------------------------------------------------------------- That is an excellent way to do this. And it was also the way my two daughters and I used to decide on what color to paint my house a couple of years ago. We finally decided to go with white and green trim, green to match all the shrubs and trees around it. |
Here is a web site I play with once in awhile.

I just use graph paper - 4 squares to an inch. I draw out the block length and width I want, then photocopy that to give me practise papers to colour in.
