I am about to buy the alto quilt cut 2 from www.quiltcut.com.
Does anyone have this fabric cutter or have another they like a lot. I have a hard time keeping my 1 1/4 inch strips steady when cutting. Thanks, just join your forerum

I have this and the GO, love both. The mats do wear pretty fast on the Accuquilt GO even when you turn them every use.
The Quilt Cut is a nice machine - cuts accurate strips with no waste of fabric.
Welcome to the board.

My regular mats do, especially the expensive Gingher. Wow that one got icky quickly. The cheapie light blue mat from Walmart is lasting but it probably dulls my blades faster. Our guild had Martelli's out last meeting for demos of their products and I ordered one of their mats. We were told they are made of something quite different from all the other mats and will last a very long time. We'll see. Haven't used my Go enough yet. We'll see on that too.

I have both the Accuquilt Go and the alto quilt cut 2. They serve 2 different functions for me. I found myself using the Alto Quilt cut 2 on almost everything I cut. I love how it "holds-clamps" the fabric. I was having trouble with straight cuts and this set up was the answer to my problem. I have a special place to put it and it is always out and ready to use. The Go is nice, but limited to the dies I've been able to purchase. Sometimes I have to cut down fabric to fit on the Go dies.Yep, I use the Alto for that. If I had to choose between the 2 the Alto would win. It is a great tool

I used my alto for years, I think I bought it the second year after it was introduced, and I loved it and I never had to replace the mat. I considered it one of my top 5 best investments.

I just got my quiltcut 2 last week and I think it was a great investment for me. I played with it a lot before I did serious cutting and am amazed at how easy and how accurate it is. Makes cutting multiple squares and triangles a breeze. Really glad I got it, it's awesome for strip cutting. /I recommend it highly. Have you watched their video on their website

Thanks everyone. Hope it is warmer where you are, here in MN it is cold. I have decided to go with the alto for now since I'm making mostly stars, triangles, diamonds and squares, may buy the ACCu later. Thanks so much for your comments and help
