I am considering purchasing a quilt designing software. If DH can buy a new boat  then I can buy something for me, right? Need some input from the Quilting Board members.

I have Electric Quilt 5 and really enjoy it. It was a Christmas gift several years ago. I haven't upgraded, but the new one, EQ7 looks interesting.

His new boat will give you more time to quilt! Go for it!

I love my EQ. Started with EQ5 and upgraded to EQ6.
|
EQ6 is awesome, but only has 3 downloads that are included.
EQ7 is unlimited, so a better value for the money :D:D:D |
Thanks. I think I will go with the EQ7. I also checked out their website to make my decision.

would like to hear from some other people, if I have trouble figuring out how to enlarge quilt designs and am constantly overbuying fabric, is electric quilt the thing to buy? Is there anything else on the market that is better?

I been using the EQ software for years and now have EQ7. It seems better than most of the other programs currently on offer although there is still a learning curve.

thanks, I'll have to see if my dealer can demo, maybe not since it's proprietary

EQ7 seems to be a lot better than EQ5 for figuring yardage. EQ5 grossly overestimated it. EQ7 might but not nearly as bad.
