Well I hope you share pics of the wall hanging of this project! Sounds pretty awesome! I love the traditional stuff, sleep under the traditional quilt, but when folks think outside the box and are able to pull it off with spectacular results, well, I get goosebumps.
My oldest daughter used to follow a local band from this area called ShatterMask. She'd have pictures, t-shirts, you name it. When I was her age, I didn't even know a guitarist:( |

The lid off the margarine or cottage cheese container makes a good template that can be cut with household scissors. The edges won't fray or distort like cardboard. Best of all FREE!!

A note on priority boxes: you are required by law to only use them for mailing. You can actually be prosecuted for using them for another purpose. Not preaching here, just letting you know. :)

Posterboard is about the best thing for templates. It is cheap. I have used ceral boxes, cardboard that pantihose comes on, sandpaper, You name it but posterboard is what I like to use best.

I think I may have a solution. It sort of happened on accident when I was at a art supply store in town (that I had never been to before) trying to look for a bridal present for Deni (who does a lot of art). Well, I didn't find everything I was looking for as far as the gift goes, but I did find a material that seemed like they'd work good for templates. Its like poster board, but thicker (but not too thick)...its used to mat artwork. At this art store, its like $4.50 for a sheet that's 18"x22" (I think that's the size). When I have some extra money to spend I'll get some and see how that works.

When I was her age, I didn't even know a guitarist:( I've been following Kittie for...oh, 7 years I think. You ask me anything about them I'll probably know it. I drive my friends crazy with the most random pieces of info...we even made a game out of it. They say a word and I have to come up with a reference relating to that word (they've only stumped me a couple times). I have talked to Mercedes over the phone---an Internet friend at the time knew the band and was going to one of their concerts, called me up while he was there. I just about had a heart attack talking to her for five minutes. I've also exchanged a few messages with Morgan on the band's forum. |
