Hi, Everyone :-) We are going to Hot Springs AK so my DH can go Jeeping this weekend. Can anyone tell me if they have a Quilting or fabric store I can check out. I tryed to google/ search on my computer but can't find any that way :!: Kim

Arkansas, I didn't have much luck finding shops on my computer. I was hoping some one on the QB might know. I can always try the phone book when we get there. Thanks for trying :!:

I have been to Hot Springs, AR many times, it's not far from me so makes a nice day trip. There aren't any quilt shops downtown area, one store on main historical street sells quilts but they seem to be manufactured, nice display of vintage items though. There is an active quilt guild and the guild has a website with quilt sponsors listed in the area. It has all the info you need to find a quilt shop in the area!

I live in Arkansas and travel to Hot Springs quite frequently. There are not any quilt stores that I am aware of down there? If there were, they have probably shut down due to the economy. That's what happened to my city, which is not far from there. NOW, if you were to travel about 2 1/2 - 3 hours north, then you could go to Jonesboro where Marshall's Dry Goods is. Wonderful store! I got Free Spirit, Heather Bailey, Moda, etc. fabrics there for $1.98 a yard! I came home with 72 yards of name-brand stuff! Cannot beat this place.

i don't sew well, and certainly only able to crazy quilt and i had a blast with my sewing circle....for me all the seconds were prized finds.

AGAIN IF YOU LOVE FABRIC, YOU MUST GO HERE AND I THINK THEY HAVE A WEB SITE, BUT NOTHING LIKE SPENDING HOURS IN THERE LOOKING OVER SUCH A WIDE SELECTION OF FABRICS.

there is a Cathy's quilt shop on Albert Pike that is great the people are so friendly. I Love her shop.

Yes, I have been to Cathy's Quilt Shop in Hot Springs, too. We visit there every year, and I make it a definite stop!! They always have so many pretty quilts hanging, but I LOVE their scraps for sale. They have some that are sold by the pound, and then they have different sizes of squares that are color co-ordinated, like 50 per package, etc. Good selection of books and fabric too. But, I always buy the scraps and squares. I'm not for sure, but I think it is on HWy 70....please check with someone or the phone book and GO.
