Has anyone used this? I saw it at www.jhittlesewing.com. I'm just starting to (try to) quilt on my sewing machine and wondered if this would be a good investment????
Thanks for your input. This QUILT HALO sits on top of your fabric, and the rubbery edge keeps fabric taut with minimal pressure. Easy on the hands - you just slide your quilting around with gentle pressure. Designed by Sharon Schamber, author, teacher and master quilter |
It seems like it would work very well, as long as your machine is recessed. I haven't tried that yet, I've always used an embroidery hoop, bet this'll be faster to 'load'.
let us know how it goes. |
There have been mixed reviews here on the board on this tool. Some found it helpful, but most said that gloves worked better.....:D:D:D

Thanks so much, amma. I should have done a search before I asked!

Here's a video of it from youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SpmMYIDCrZw
It shows the designer, Sharon Schamber using it. I did buy it, and although I am still a beginner with FMQ, find this makes it easier. You do need to have the Supreme Slider or the like to work with it. I've also got gloves, and if I am sewing in the ditch, or grids, will use them instead. For FMQ, thus far I prefer the Halo & Slider combination. |
I have the halo and the supreme slider. It has helped with my FMQ. I took the class with the lady that developed the slider, and she was fantastic. A lot depends on practice. Remember, practice makes perfect. I am glad that I invested in both the slider and the halo.

i use the halo/slider quite often and think its a great product.

I have really enjoyed doing crayon quilts this past year. Does anyone have any ideas for resources for horse pcitures that can be easily traced - specifically looking for cowgirls on horses or barrel racers?

I appreciate your help. The coloring page for the barrel racer is cute. My little great niece is six and adores horses. I am excited to trace this on the fabric and add the color. So many ideas..........so little time.
