I need to make a quilt for a child who lives in Florida. Do I need to use batting in the quilt?

I would say yes it does get cold here something light little ones get cold because of A/C also

maybe, do they have AC in the house? maybe a light batting?
|
It still gets cold in FL. With the crazy weather we all are having .... Who knows they may get snow next winter.
When I lived in FL(boca raton area) I did use a very thin poly batting in mine. We used it for sure in the winter. |
I would use a light batting.

I live in Miami and yes put batting, we do get cold in January and a/c runs the rest of the time
|
It's cold here too in the winter. I would put cotton batting in it.

I use Warm & Natural in my quilts and I live in FL

if you are worried about it being too hot why not just use a piece of flannel for batting? you can also just back a quilt with a soft fabric like a chaneil.(Brain on vaca it seams cant spell worth a darn.) I have done it both ways. The chaneil backing quilt I made went to CA for a baby that was born in the spring. it was warm enough to keep the baby wrapped up in at night but cool enough that the baby didn't ever heat.

Maybe just backing it with flannel will provide enough warmth.
