I am making a quilt for my DS and it is one that I am not real fond of. The colors are all dark and mean to the eyes. But anyway, the quilt is longer in length then it should be. Would it be ok to just add a border or two on the sides to make it proportioned?

it just depends on the look you are going for. I say test it out and see. and if you are really worried you can add a very thing 1-2" boarder to the other two sides to make it more symmetrical or what ever the term would be.

Tell 'er it's longer to tuck under the pillows.

That's a good one, didn't think about that.
Thanks :D |

of course you can add side borders people do it all the time

yes, you can add borders on the sides only if you want to. several have been posted here in Pictures. they look fine.

I recently had that problem with a quilt--it was long and narrow. I added a narrow border on the top and bottom and a wider border on each side. I looks good and looks like it was meant to be like that.
