I don't buy kits. I like to put my own fabrics together.

Too bad you washed your fabric and cut it. It would have been better if you looked the kit over thoroughly. You could have sent it back.

I like kits in certain instances because all of the fabric is in the kit except for the backing. My stash is big enough that I can swap out one or two fabrics if need be.

I've never bought a kit, but could you use at least some of the fabric in the kit and purchase different fabric to coordinate with the kit? It would be cheaper than buying all new fabric. Just a thought.

I have ordered 2 kits from Connecting threads and have been happy. I bought one at half off and the other at 40% off. I also bought coordinating fabric for the back from them and got 30% off on that. The fabric was great and plenty off it. The patriotic quilt fabrics looked a little darker than I saw on my screen but I still like them.

I have purchased a few kits and so far really liked them. I have only purchased from quilt in a day and connecting threads. They were great!

I have bought kits from Connecting Threads and I have been very pleased with the material and the colors. Also, there is always extra material after the cuttings. Very pleased with their products, materials, and service. Good thoughts to all.

I have looked at their site and wondered about them. Now that I know that the fabric is ok, I will order one. Thanks for the info. If the kit is something that I really like, I will get it. I have bought several from my lqs and have been pretty happy with them. I did get one that was a little short, but with some rearanging it worked. But whenever I buy one, the pattern is included and shows the quilt in the fabric that I am purchasing. I usually wait until they are on sale so it doesn't bite quite so bad.

I have a few kits... but I have a tendency to put it all apart in the store before I purchase it. I know a few stores that make it up before hand so you see it all together and the kits are only with that material so that helps. My mother bought me a kit once, i don't think she will again, because I took to much joy in cutting off all the crane heads. I'm not a big fan of birds on a quilt apparently.

Oh hell LIFE never looks like it does in the picture. I love kits as I don't have to worry about colors and values. I also love to do my own thing...So I vote both ways!
