I have ordered kits from everywhere, I'm not kidding, probably have at least 50 in my sewing room. Always check them, and have never ever had a problem. I had one from "Piece of cake Designs I ordered in 1996. I had started it, but then found out my Mother had cancer, so tucked it away. I just came across it this Spring and decided to finish it. I had lost the pattern page to one of the blocks, I contacted them and had the pattern with in just a few days. Now that is service!!!!!

I love kits and have bought many. Here are some of my favorite places to shop online.

Kits are my weakness! Like Jackie Spencer, I order them from everywhere. So far, I have never had a problem. I am very, very careful in cutting as most kits do not have a lot of extra fabric. My daughter has 3 foster children. I make them all lots of quilts; but making the 6 year old quilts to go along with her favorite books and movies is the most fun. Those quilts are usually very easy to make. The little girl loves getting a quilt along with the book that goes with it. Tonight, I ordered the "Frozen" quilt kit from Keepsake Quilting. Fortunately, it doesn't ship until Oct. 10. That gives me time to get some of the other kits made up.

I like kits for things like applique because of the need of various sized pieces, I have had good luck with kits, but I also like making my own as I don't stash build. I just buy patterns buy the fabric for said pattern and keep it all together. I think I only have like 2 or 3 pieces that don't have a project, but I also don't know what to do with them

A good idea to check that all the pieces are there as soon as you get it. You have a better chance of getting it fixed if there is a problem.

I ordered one kit for a walker bag. The fabric was very nice and there was plenty of fabric, however the directions were nuts and I had to redo that top cuff because their directions were so goofy. It sort of soured me on kits and I haven't ordered any more.

I love the quilt kits from Connecting Threads! They are generous with the fabric so you have plenty!

I've been very satisfied with Connecting Threads. I have also ordered from Keepsake and Nancys Notions, but not as much. So far I love kits.

My experiences have been positive from CT and KQ as well. Have fun.

I have bought BOMs from Stitchin Heaven and some other shops with no problems. I just make sure that I really like the fabrics before I buy a kit. I agree with KwiltyKathy about checking them on arrival to make sure you have what you need. It will be easier to resolve an issue then rather than later.
