Quilt Label Poem
When I made my first quilts in 2012 I wrote a poem to use for labels. Everyone really enjoyed it, and I thought I would share
Please don't put me in the closet, or save me just for guests. I am just a simple covering, to be used like all the rest. You see I was not made, to be a work of art. I was made to keep you warm you see, made with love right from the start. My creator made me sturdy, so I could take all the abuse, that she hopes will come to me, from years of daily use. So put me in the washer, just keep the cycle gentle. Then toss me in the dryer, it won't be detrimental. Just remember that our favorite things, those things that we hold dear, are not the ones we hide away, they are the ones that we keep near. Love it!! I make quilts to be Used!! The baby quilt I made my Grandaughter 17 years ago she still takes everywhere with her!! It was made from a cot panel......it is now grey and colourless and only has the quilting design left visible!!! But it is very loved!!! :)

Great poem. Remember that when they wear out the quilt, you get to make another one.

Bless you for sharing. I promise to give you full, full credit each time I used it, and I will for sure. Thanks, thanks!

Wow! I wish I had seen your poem before I put a label on my daughter's quilt sent off last week. You say exactly what I feel..... and you say it eloquently. I will definitely give credit when I use it. Thank you.
