Quilt label question ...

I'm getting a quilt ready to go to a charity auction and need some help with the label. I've never put labels on my quilts before (please don't tell the quilt police!!) and am wondering what information needs to be included. TIA

For an auction or charity quilt, I would not put my name on the label. I'd put the charity's name and the date of the auction. Some people like to add care instructions.

I donate lots of quilts for foster kids. I do not put labels on them.

The year, the cause or name of the auction. I print care instructions on an index weight paper and attach it with a safety pin.

This is an example of what I put on a donated quilt. I put the pattern and the year and if there is a name of the charity I include that. I have little tags that I sew on with the binding that have my name on them

Thank you.

Name of quilt, date completed, fiber content and care instructions, would be the bare minimum. I donate to a few organizations that require fiber content and care instructions.

I just saw a label on the board but can't remember who made it. It said something like "Quilty hugs on your journey". I thought that was really sweet.

Yes, what Dunster said.
