I read a post a couple days ago re: making labels for your quilts from fabric printer sheets. Someone mentioned something about washing them in vinegar.
I thought I had bookmarked that thread but didn't. I tried doing a search but I still couldn't locate the post. Can someone please help? Thanks! |
if you are using purchased fabric printer sheets you should use the instructions on the sheets you are using for the best results. they are not all created equal and some need to be treated differently than others.
check out the Dharma Trading company web site; they offer lots of instuction and help for printing/dyeing your own fabrics. vinegar is usually only used if using an acid dye. for non-acidic applications the vinegar has no effect and you are just wasting your money. |
Make sure to read instructions on each, as they are different. Not sure about the vinegar.
Welcome from a fellow Washingtonian! |
Thanks everyone! I ended up last night getting the June Tailor iron-on fabric sheets.
Hello Mariposa! It is nice to see so many people from Washington on here. |
I used the June Taylor ironon sheet for my label on my last project. I found a pattern I liked tweeked it and used it. I really like it.
