1st time. usally tacked quilts.
Want to machine quilt, sue & sam quilt. I think I will quilt black frames with black wavy lines, inside frame I need a easy, 1st timer, machine quilting idea. thanks |
That's one of the cutest Sunbonnet Sue and Sam quilts I've seen in a long time -- such great fabric choices! When I quilted mine, I did diagonal lines about 1" or 1-1/2" apart inside the blocks up to the appliques. You usually don't quilt through appliques. I think I did some kind of simple flower motif in the sashing. I have a picture, but I don't think the quilting design is clear in the picture.

grid the background up to the applique.

Love your quilt, no idea how to quilt it.

I enjoyed this quilt. It's on the back burner for awhile but I think your Sue & Sam are unique, and the background fabs are just so fun. Thanks for sharing. No idea how to quilt it tho.

just a sample...each sue had the same hat 'edging' but everyone was holding a different toy or flower and each set of streamers on the bows were done to fit in the space and so differently...
PS...LOVE your fabric choices...so cute...and the colors...i love dark colors for small children... |
Love this! I like how the backgrounds are prints fitting to each Sue and Sam instead of a white or neutral plain block! Very nice!

I'm not usually a Sue fan, but this quilt is absolutely the cutest. Your contrast just make every block pop.

Super cute quilt! Love the different background fabrics! FABULOUS job

the cross-hatch suggestions are good options-- you could also just do an (echo) quilting- around each applique- with the lines 1/2"-1" apart
very cute quilt! i've had a stack of sue's all appliqued-in a box for 7 or 8 years----one of these days i need to make them into a quilt- your's is inspiring :) |
