I know this has probably been asked in the past. Do you have any suggestions on which quilt magazine would be worth the money. I would like to subscribe to one of these again. I have found in the past that a lot of the magazines deal mostly with long arm style. I do not do long arm, I can not afford the machine let alone have the room for one. I would like to have a magazine that mainly deals with new patterns and techniques.
These can be very expensive and I do not want to order one that I do not like. Would love to have your suggestions.

I think each person has a preference. I bought lots of them at the store and found the ones I liked best and subscribed to them.

I don't subscribe anymore. I used to get Quilter's Newsletter for years but it started changing too much for me.
Once in awhile I pick one up at the store but there's so much online that I don't buy mags anymore for the most part.
Maybe I just got burned out. I used to subscribe to at least 3 or 4 :D

Actually Fon's and Porters is a good one. and i love Australian Quilting and Patchwork.

Fons and Porter is the only one I subscribe to now. I agree with sueisallaboutquilts regarding Quilter's Newsletter Magazine. I picked one up at a Barnes & Noble the other day, and I couldn't believe how thin it felt!! It was promptly put back on the shelf! I wasn't even able to peek inside because it was in a plastic bag!! :roll:

What's good for one, isn't necessarily good for another. I would hit the stores and buy one or all for the first coupla issues. Then decide which works for you. I, for one, don't like the ones that have mostly ads, or is into "creative" quilting (mostly longarm stuff). I found Fons and Porter the best one for me as a beginner.

I love them all, LOL! Alas, I can not buy them all, but I wish I could.

As a newbie quilter, I can't find enough information. I am learning, learning, learning, and patterns that are old to someone else are new to me.

As for which particular one I like the best, I'd have to sey Fons and Porter or McCalls. American Patchwork and Quilting is another good one.

Have you checked your local library? You could preview the magazines there and then decide which you like.

I subscribe to Fons and Porter, American Patchwork and Quilting, McCalls and Quilt. These are my favorites, but it's really personal preference.
