If you only piece the tops together and turn those over to someone else to finish can you still call yourself a quilter?

Of course. I'm a cross stitcher even if I've never FINISHED one. It's the act of doing it

craftybear 05-27-2010 01:56 PM

yes, you are a quilter!

There was a thread about this before. It's all semantics. Technically, you're a piecer, but who cares?? It's a hobby and if it makes you happy, call yourself a fabric goddess.

Patchworkquilttopmaker would be great for me because it is a long word and the Germans love long words, but it just doesn't sound right. lol

If nobody pieces the tops, there's no quilts to begin with. I think if you are involved in either part of the process, you are a quilter.

Exactly. Piecing is PART of quilting, therefore, you ARE a quilter!!

Trust me, you'll be quilting before long. Baby steps ;-)
