When you are stippling or meandering do you quilt 1/4" inch from the edge of the quilt where you will attach the binding or do you quilt clear to the edge of your quilt - so when you attach your binding some of your quilting is underneath it? Hope this makes sense. I really don't think it matters - but just wondering if there is a right and a wrong way to do it.

I just go right off the edge and onto the actual batting/backing when meandering. I don't think it really matters when you're doing a meander pattern. Plus it tacks down the edges so it's easier to bind.

It depends on the type of quilting I am doing. If it a specific design that would looked chopped off, I will stop before the 1/4" mark. Others that won't look funny, I will continue off of the quilt.

I usually stitch off the edge. But right now all I do is stipple.

Same here, besides most of the time I have straight stitched the edges down.

all the way to the edges for me--sometimes- other times- (like if i'm doing just a vine down an outter border--i don't)

Unless it's custom, I quilt off the edge.
