After cutting the fabrics to make I Spy quilts for the younger grandsons, I had an idea for a teen/sport quilt. I have so many and so much fabric that are sports related. Some of them have 3" ball players, footballs, baseballs, jerseys, etc. What to make for 12 yr old Dominic-not an I Spy quilt, but what?
I know that you will have suggestions for a teen boy's quilt. HELP

I have to stop making quilts that require 1/8th of a yard of 30 fabrics, but I like it so much that I buy 1/2 or full yards-LOL- my stash is growing by leaps and bounds!!

What about some of the on-line stores we use only selling by the yard?? I like the fabric, but not enough for the full yard. Who else has problems with this??

I love quilts with circles on them - maybe something like Amy Butler's Belle Quilt or a variation of it... http://www.amybutlerdesign.com/products/free_patterns.php[url]

I immediately thought of circles since most sports use round balls. I think it would be fun to have the sports materials in the circles - like balls.

Thanks Deb, Belle is a really neat pattern. I think it will achieve what I am looking for. Only three quilts to go and I can work on it! I can consider myself a quilter now that I have six projects in line.
