I found this quilt on the Internet and I really like the style and would like to use this pattern for my baby clothes quilt. Can anyone tell me if there is a name for this pattern and any hints or tips on how to make it? thanks, Pam  |
Pamelajo, that looks like a custom quilt. It's super cute! I imagine that you have to be careful with your applique for kids quilts unless it is just for wall only. I remember someone talking about staying away from the fast fuse methods for kids quilts not too long ago because of the chemicals.

I didn't realize until after I hit submit I should have mentioned I'm interested in the actual quilt and not the applique, while the appliques are really cute I'm not sure I'm ready for that challenge yet. I plan on making three quilts, one for each of my children with the baby clothes I have saved and I'm looking for something somewhat easy. I really like just the simple squares, I'm thinking 4 inch pieces. Any suggestions appreciated!!!

OH. In that case, I'd start with a 9 patch. There is a great tutorial on this site. I'll get the thread and type it in----just a sec.

here it is....it's one of ShellyQs and I tell people about it all the time!! A great one for beginners. |
The gal who made that quilt has a blog and etsy shop (where she sells her patterns), I'm a follower of her blog. She does some cute stuff. You may be able to purchase the quilt pattern or contact her to see if she can guide you along the way. Her name is Elizabeth, here are the links:

It looks like a 4 patch with applique added.
