I don’t think it’s hanging gardens, because she has 3 black squares in a block. I think it’s a half log cabin with a 4 Patch. Will try to figure it out.

It's similar to Hanging Gardens but uses a 9-patch block instead of 4-patch block. I agree that it is a half log cabin, but with a 9 patch block. Would be pretty easy to make without a pattern, I would think. What makes the German quilt so striking is the choice of fabrics. Looks like bright rose and red batiks with black.

Hanging Gardens! I made this a few years ago. It went together very easily and is really a pretty quilt....lots of 2 1/2 inch strips. I gifted it...may need to get the pattern out and do it again! Thanks for the reminder.

It's a 9 patch with half log cabin using Kaffee Fassett's fabrics, set on point.
