Quilt pattern
 

Many years ago, I saw a quilt pattern where you assembled the top, then cut it into three pieces at different angles and sewed back together. Ring a bell with anyone? Would love to try it now.

Oh gosh, that does ring a bell. I will try searching a bit.

Sounds like a twister quilt. basically you sew squares together, then cut out squares that are twisted slightly, then sew them back together.

Though with that you cut it into way more than three pieces . . .

It was an Eleanor Burns Quilt In A Day technique where you sewed blocks together in a traditional side by side layout. Then did the slicing, and joined the pieces and became an on point layout. Later I learned the blocks were called "Bright Hopes". The fabrics chosen helped created a 3D effect to create a trellis effect.

Sorry, but I don't know the EB QIAD quilt pattern name ... but I think it was Double Garden Trellis, or something similar.

I think the one you are talking about was a MSQC pattern not sure if it was a tutorial or in the BLOCK magazine. Was it cut diagonally in half and then one of the halves was cut in diagonally in half again then rotate the pieces sew small triangles together and then sew two halves together? I'll search my BLOCK magazines and see if I can find it.
