Where could I find free quilting patterns for beginners in large tote bags, lap quilts, and when I get my nerve up, quilts for on beds? Thank you!

Your first quilt probably doesn't need a pattern. Just make it using 6 1/2" squares. Pick four fabrics and lay them out any way you please. The quilt will look great and you'll learn a lot without being totally frustrated.

I totally agree. My very first quilt I had no idea what I was doing, just started with what I liked. Also don't start with anything to complex as you want to be able to finish it to quickly to get a sense of accomplishment. I am very much a person that needs to be pushed to get out of my comfort zone so with each new project I try to pick something that is new to me. There aren't any quilt police but having said that we can be our own worst critic. Just have fun. Its called a "Hobby" for a reason.

look for charm quilt patters. It is one pattern, either a triangle or a square. they are so easy. I have a book of patterns that I could copy and email to you if you would like.

Hi, Pam!
That would be very nice of you if you could copy it and send it to me. If you want to figure out a price for the copying and postage, I will gladly pay it! Thank you so very much for your offer!

Shayvian, the QB's very own Rhonda has a wonderful learning program / pattern ideas she offers callede Boston Blocks and they aren't hard, but they make it look like you are a really good piecer when they are put together. I think they would be good for a beginner, because that 's what I was too. Just started 11 months ago!
