Quilt with pictures
When quilting a quilt with pictures do you quilt over the pictures or around the pictures. Im using black thread I could use beige thread, but do I quilt over the pictures , is my question. Thanks

I didn't but I don't think the one I made will be washed often so I didn't have to worry about the batting- I guess it will depend more on the use of the quilt ?
|
it is up to you how you quilt it- it also depends on your batting- some batts have to be quilted every 2" which would probably mean you have no choice- other batts allow up to 10" between quilting lines- so you may not have to - you could just quilt around them- so first- check your batting package- and see how close you need to quilt- then look at the quilt and form a plan in your mind.

i never do...the family really wants to see the pictures as they are...
|
I don't either...I just secure them as best I can without actually quilting the pics themselves.
|
I did because the pictures were rather large. I used a thread that blended in pretty good.
|
I quilted around the pictures on the quilt that I made.
Oh....just saw that this is my 1000th post!! |
I FMQ in the background of the pictures. It makes the focus of the pictures pop and gives a more uniform quilting look.
