quilt shed

I was just in my friends 32 foot mobile trailer it would make the nicest quilt room if I had a place to park it.Just think a small kitchen and bathroom plus lots of space for fabric.Just a dream for me.

I have a "mother-in-law suite" (converted 1 1/2 car garage) and I love it! Refrigerator, washer/dryer and full bath. I use it for a dressing room for my alteration customers. I bought the house because of this studio! I don't need a full kitchen, but love the bath, I embroider as well, so I can "leave the room" without really leaving. My machine knows when I am gone, and acts up! AC/heat, all the comforts of home (minus the bed). I could live out here!

sounds like a great plan

Virginia Woolfe was right- every woman needs "A Room of One's Own" :)

Nice dream. I've had a similar one. Like a tiny house just for sewing! But that'll probably remain just a dream.

This is my quilt shed, though half is my vintage machine collection, and the other half has the LA in it. It does have a small kitchen (summer kitchen) but no bathroom. I use to have the LA in the dining room, but I like this so much better!

Cathy you quilt shed looks great. For now I am just happy having a devoted quilting room. No long arm but plenty of room.

What's a summer kitchen?

How would you deal with empting the grey and black water tanks? Heating and condensation would be a problem during winter. Sorry to burst your bubble. I also live in a state with long cold and snowy winters and couldn't help but think of these things.

Son was building a work shed in back of our property...I asked him to add 12 feet for a sewing room for my long arm. He got real busy with his construction business that it sat there for a long time so I said...what the heck...I have a spare bedroom..12x14...and made that my sewing room..

No need to heat or cool another place just close the door and it's my domain.
