My DH and I will be leaving for vacation Sunday. We are spending the first few days near and in Yellowstone, N.P. and the second week in Park City but plan to drive to Salt Lake City for sight seeing a few days. I would like to visit a quilt shop or two while on vacation. DH doesn't like to stop along the way, but doesn't mind visiting them once we have settled for the night. We will be spending nights on the road in Elko, NV and Idaho Falls, Idaho if you know of any that are in those two areas. I think we even have one night in Winnemuca, NV on the way home. I would appreciate any tips that you might have about LQS in those areas. Thanks

Idaho Falls has Porter's Craft and Fabric. Also Madsen's. There is also a new JoAnn's and a Hancock Fabric. There are quilt shops in Rexburg and Rigby which are on the way to Idaho Falls from West Yellowstone.

There are so many in the Salt Lake City area. I think about 30. My favs are The Material Girls, Pine Needles, Thimbles and Threads, and Quilts, etc. And in that order. If you want addresses let me know. All of these are at the south end of the valley. I think these stores have the biggest variety and inventory.

And most stores are closed on sundays.

If you came down as far as Rupert, ID it has one of the largest quilt shops. It is called "The Gathering Place".

My sisters and I had a visit to Salt Lake City and found some great shops (sorry that I don't remember the names - we looked in the phone book. We bought so much stuff that we had to buy extra suitcases to get it home :)
