quilt sizes

Hey Guys...My brain is in a fog and I can't find the place I store this kind of stuff....can you tell me the dimensions of a queen size quilt? :o:wave:

my chart says mattress 60x80, batting 90x108, so hoe far over the mattress do you want it to go?

The chart I have is 86"×100". The mattress size is 60"×80" then add your drop of sides of your mattress

I don't use a chart. I measure the mattress and then add the drop to cover the mattress like Redneck Woman. Usually I have to add an extra border because most queen pattern sizes I have made are not big enough. I have a Longarm and do my own quilting so I add an extra inch to that last border to give me a bit of square up room.

i made a pdf and keep it on my QB blog http://www.quiltingboard.com/blogs/b...rt-b12736.html

I tend to make my Queens 100" square. I found that mattresses seem to be thicker so you need that little bit extra to keep it from looking skimpy.

I have to tell everybody...the response that is given when a question is put out there sometimes just takes me to tears. I love this place. This chart is exactly what I was looking for. I had it on a business card size thing...but I've misplaced it. Thanks everyone. Oh.....sigh

Oh thank you so much.

As you can see, the answer is that there is no answer. While the top of a queen mattress is standard in the US, the depth of the mattress and box springs is not standard. And people have different preferences regarding pillow tuck and drop all around.
