Quilt technology question
Does anyone know if there is an app that will allow you to put a picture of a quilt block or even A picture of the whole quilt into the program and then be able to add different quilting designs on top of it so you can see how they look before you quilt them out? It would be a real time saver for me if there was such an app.

You can take a picture of your quilt and save the image to your computer. Open the picture with Paint and then draw designs on it in paint or get a bamboo tablet and draw on image on computer.

I don't know but you could search in "Playstore" for quilt apps. Or google quilt apps.

I tried to Google but Pagzz idea would more likely be better.

It's not an app, but rather powerful software that will do what you describe and so much more. EQ7

Sounds like a great program, CVQ -- maybe I'll ask Santa for EQ7; I only have EQ4.

I have one on my I Pad called You Doodle. Take a picture of your quilt. Open the You Doodle App, upload your picture and draw away. It will also erase in steps according to when you lifted your finger from drawing. Love it!

I used the program called ProQ Designer that came with my robotic system....MQR. It allows you to bring a photo of your quilt made by a camera or what I use is a mock-up made in EQ7 into the program. You can bring in your digitized patterns setting them how you want over the photo. By clicking "I" you can remove the photo and again clicking "I" again to bring it back in. This program allows you to digitize your own pattern as well as taking a purchased pattern, tweaking it to fit your need, deleting parts, merging parts, etc. Ellen Munnich has been offering livefeed video most weeks to show us how to make the most of this wonderful program. She also offers on the 1st Sunday of the month for those with help on what to quilt on our quilts. These videos are for anyone with or without robotics. Here's her site for the livefeed videos................http://munnichdesign.com/index.htm Today is the 1st of the month so she'll be offering the suggestions at 3:30PM CST ...............if weather permits as TX has had some terrible storms down her way. If nothing else she puts the past videos on her site for download so you can catch up with ones you couldn't attend live. I'll be there this afternoon for sure as I've submitted 2 finished quilts using some of her suggestions and one top I just don't know what to quilt on it.

Only app I found was Robert Kaufman which doesn't do what you are looking for. I haven't read about any app on this board for what you are looking for. |
EQ7. It is simple for beginners and advanced for designers. I love the import and trace feature. Of course no instructions how to piece it, that is what makes it a non copyright violation. So many thought others were criminals if they used this feature. LOL
