I use them.

if you store them in plastic, be sure they get some air.

quilt for fun grandma G
I have stored my extra quilts rolled up in a pillow case.or pillow cover. I show then to visitors often so that way they get refolded and layed out on the bed often. I have been told by authority a quilt should be refolded at least every 3 months so that is how I do it. I hope this helps.

I have a rarely used bedroom and I spread my quilts on the bed. I cover them with a spread so the light does not fade the top one. When I have a guest, I just fold back all the quilts over the footboard of the bed so the guest can sleep. I like keeping them unfolded to avoid creases.

I have 2 or 3 quilts on the guest room beds and I rotate them according to the seasons. I use 1 quilt to cover my dining room table. I made a shower curtain out of a quilt and I use a plastic liner behind it. I have quilts hanging on the wall, on quilt racks and draped on the backs of sofas and chairs during the winter. I store these in old pillow cases during the summer time so they won't get yellow or age spots. I have made quilts for my children, grandchildren, neices, nephews, and great grand children. I always make a wedding quilt for family members. Gives me more reasons to keep quilting.

on beds, rocking chairs etc.

I use quilt racks so I can show them off a bit. Otherwise one can fold them and slip on a pillowcase to keep it clean.

Well, lucky me. Our daughter moved out 1 1/2 yrs ago and we got a new mattress set. We put the old one in her room. I decided to lay all my quilts on top and then I cover them with the spread. No wrinkles or refolding or sun damage. She came home for Christmas, so I had to take them off, but then I get to look at them again.

My quilts are either on beds or stacked in this china cabinet that I picked up at IKEA before Christmas. It was marred somehow (that I do not notice, must be on the back) and marked down $200, so I bought it for $179. It was a Merry Christmas!

So far, I've given them all away, except the ones I've made for our beds. But the beds are all done and I'm going to be having the same problem! I do like several of the ideas given here on the Board though--as usual! (Deonn--love your cabinet!)
