Quilt of valor

I ordered a layer cake of patriotic fabrics and want to make a QOV. I've searched for patterns that use layer cakes but haven't found anything. Anyone made one? or have a suggestion? Looks like there are 4 pieces of each fabric.

Did you do a google search for QoV quilts? So many ideas out there to choose from.

Any quilt pattern can be used for a QOV. Find a pattern that is layer cake friendly. You may need to add a solid to make it large enough. I've only made one, and it was cut into a kit, so all I had to do was put the top together.

I just made one with the pattern, Brightly from Cluck cluck sew. It's a $9.00 download but worked perfect. Sorry I don't have a photo.

Here's the link to that pattern. Looks like it would make a nice QOV.

"Framed" is a free pattern that is dedicated to layer cakes.

There are lots of free layer cake patterns on Youtube.
(Missouri Star, Sew the Distance and Moonkin Stitchery among others)
Also, check Fat Quarter Shop.

I followed Jenny’s video on YouTube for my Brightly quilt picture below. I didn’t use a layer cake but the video uses them. Everyone in my sewing group loved it.
