DH took me down to a lovely quilt shop in Freeport, ME to their annual yard sale. Quilters from all over bring their stash and sell it for very little money. Their quilting books were selling for only $1, patterns for 10 cents and yardage for $2 per yard, even less for fat quarters in bulk. So many choices, so little time and money. I did pick up a nice amount of "goods" but had to hurry through because DH works for FEMA and is on call to go out for the hurricane. We're awaiting Irene's arrival here in Maine tomorrow. I hope everyone affected by the storm is ok.

so what goodies did you buy?

Roberta, I love your avatar - is that all one dog, and what kind is it?

Oh, my word, I wish I'd known about it! I live 30 minutes from Freeport. What shop was it?

I love, love Cottonweeds. I wish I could have gone but we were packing up our family cottage before the storm hit and getting home yesterday. If you sign up for their newsletter, you get emails when they have special events like this. They cosponsor a retreat in the spring, as well. I haven't been able to go yet since it's the same weekend as my guild's retreat. I've taken a class there too. They have a very comfortable classroom space.
Oh, man, I'll have to try to get there at some point! |
