Can someone explain what is done on a "quilt as you go" King Sized quilt. I understand how to bind each block and then the blocks. However, my quilt has a flying geese border and then another 6" border all around. How do I connect these two borders with batting to the quilted center? Can someone explain this?

I did a queen size quilt with borders. My solution was to quilt the borders as a strip just like the blocks and attach just like blocks with muuuch longer seams. You could sew the two borders together and do them as one. This is a possibility.
Good luck.

Stop your quilting on the blocks and the borders at least 1/2 inch from the seam. You'll sew the front seams together like normal but on the back you'll hide the seam with a folded sashing strip. It helps if you trim your batting away from the seam lines 1/4" also but be very careful not to cut your top or backing while trimming.

You could also butt the borders up to the blocks and zig zag the borders on but them you'll have to hide the front & back seams with sashing.
