The front has no quilting. And since I am making these for comfort quilts I am not adding a vertical quilt line either. The only stitch lines seen are the horizontal flip and sew seam lines on the back of the quilt. I realize the whole length of the row has no quilting but it is stable enough for use as a comfort quilt. And I would not tackle this in anything larger than 40x60, which is the approximate size I make the majority of my quilts.

I sew "rows at a time" when I QAYG. the backing can be one large piece if you wish, but i usually keep the top and batting cut into 7" strips (i have lots saved as scraps) and pin them into place one at a time. this method has really cut back on my puckers and improved my points!
