Can anyone help please? I have a quilt that I started- in a class - and due to a move of house I didn't complete the class. It was a quilt as you go Christmas quilt and I was wondering how I join the completed blocks together as they have the batting already added. If anyone knows of a tutorial or can give me simple instructions I would be very grateful. Thank you

The one I did, I pushed the batting aside and sewed the front sections together. Then I folded over one side of each seam on the back and hand stitched the seams. Then I quilted over the seam area to match the rest of the quilting.

A friend of mine does quilt as you go on all her quilts. She keeps telling me to give it a shot. With all the good info available, maybe I will...

You can go to How-to-Quilt.com. They have had segments on quilt and you go. I do most of my quilts this way and it is fun and easy.

I've made a few like this. I found a wonderful technique on www.treadleon.net. Look in "The Quilt Shop" then under "Joining blocks". This is my preferred technique because there is no hand sewing the blocks together. It's fun and quick and makes a two sided quilt.

Even borders can be added

Just cut your borders, quilt them as you like, then use the same connecting technique. It works!

Miss Purple Shoes 01-14-2010 08:31 AM

Thank you so much. I will give it a go.
